Last weekend, I was privileged to address the Bernalillo County Republican Party volunteers for about 15-20 minutes and take a few questions from the attendees. We had about 25-30 in attendance and I had a lot of positive feedback from my remarks about how Republicans win when they run on furthering conservative principles. I told them I am a conviction conservative who is running because I strongly believe I can make a difference for good for the people of this state to lower their taxes, create new higher paying jobs, enforce our illegal immigration laws, improve educational choice, to defend New Mexico values and make implement free market solutions to make health care more affordable. Earlier this week, I travelled to the Roundhouse in Santa Fe to watch the state legislature in session and to meet with members of the State Senate Republican Caucus many of whom have offered to support me in any way they can to help ensure that I am elected. I was gratified to hear several tell me that they are looking forward to serving with me in the State Senate. I had a particularly good visit with our great Senate Minority Leader Curt Ingle.
This will be a big weekend for the Republican Party. As you probably know throughout the state, the County Republican Parties will be holding their pre-primary conventions where they will be selecting delegates to the state pre-primary convention which will determine which of our federal candidates will appear on the ballot. I will be attending the Sandoval County Republican Pre-Primary Convention on Saturday from 9:30-11:30am at the old church in Corrales. Later that day I will be making a brief courtesy appearance at the Carraro for Congress Meet and Greet at Gardinhos which is being held from 2-5pm. Then on Sunday, I will be attending the Bernalillo County Republican Pre-Primary convention from 1-5pm at the Albuquerque Mariott where I have reserved a table for my supporters to pass out my brochures and tell people a little bit more about me and why I am running to get elected as your next State Senator.
I hope to see you there!
